Blank Forms provides comprehensive support to emerging and underrepresented artists and archives, offering resources and platforms for their work. In the fiscal year January 1December 31, 2024, Blank Forms presented 43 events and 2 exhibitions, and published 12 books and records, while stewarding artist estates and archives behind the scenes. Programs were held at the organizations two venues in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, as well as off-site across New York City and internationally in Paris, London, and Folkestone, England.A keystone project in 2024 focused on preserving and organizing the archive of Catherine Christer Hennix, a longtime collaborator whose work Blank Forms has consistently commissioned, presented, and published. The organization hosted residencies by composer Ellen Arkbro, cellist Lucy Railton, and sound artist Graham Lambkin, and presented a wide range of performances in collaboration with partner venues, featuring country innovator Terry Allen, gospel group The Staples Jr. Singers, and free jazz stalwart Kahil El'Zabar, among others. Programming balanced national and international voices with New Yorkbased artists, including a commissioned site-specific work by electronic musician 7038634357 (Neo Gibson) and shows featuring African American Sound Recordings, Paul Armbula, and Loren Connors. The gallery featured a major exhibition of new work by visual artist Candace Hill-Montgomery, alongside mosaics by Swiss musician Anton Bruhin.In 2024, Blank Forms engaged over 500,000 people through performances, exhibitions, publications, and widespread digital access to its recordings and online journalextending its reach across local, national, and international audiences. Reflecting the organization's commitment to affordability and inclusive public access, 24% of events were offered free of charge, and books were distributed at no cost to public libraries, schools, and prisons through a partnership with Arts Resources Transfer. Through these and other efforts, Blank Forms works to expand public access to artists and practices historically excluded from mainstream arts institutions and markets.
