DURING THE 2019 TAX YEAR, SECURING OHIO'S FUTURE ("SOF") CONDUCTED PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS AND BUILT GRASSROOTS SUPPORT TO INFLUENCE POLICYMAKING OUTCOMES THROUGH GRASSROOTS MOBILIZATION AND ADVOCACY. THESE EFFORTS INCLUDED SPONSORING POLICY RESEARCH ON SUBSTANTIAL ISSUES, AS WELL AS EDUCATING THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE IMPACT OF VARIOUS STATE AND FEDERAL POLICIES ON OHIOANS' EVERYDAY LIVES, WITH A PRIMARY FOCUS ON THE ECONOMY, JOBS, TAXES, LAW ENFORCEMENT, AND THE OPIOID EPIDEMIC. SOF ALSO CONDUCTED RESEARCH AND POLLING TO DETERMINE HOW VARIOUS DEMOGRAPHIC GROUPS IN OHIO RESPONDED TO VARIOUS PUBLIC POLICY ISSUES, AND TO IDENTIFY THEIR PREFERENCES AND CONCERNS.
