In 2023, we launched our Roots Run Deep tours. We created eight self- guided tours from Berryville to Staunton, Virginia. We published book- lets and one page maps for all of the tours. We conducted tours for many groups. In October we had our fourth annual "Honoring Soul Food History and Chefs" event at the Lucy F. Simms Center in Harrisonburg, Virginia. We continue to work with groups to maintain our sustain- ability. Solar panels were added to our roof and we have been maint- aining our driveway/parking area which is made up of permeable pavers. Our Heritage Center is active and we have helped dozens of families with their family histories. We gave out about a dozen free DNA kits in 2023.
