Financial support is only the starting point. OSPSP goes far beyond traditional scholarships by delivering personalized, hands on support that changes outcomes. Every applicant is interviewed, and each recipient is paired with a dedicated volunteer mentor while being connected to community resources, workshops, and ongoing guidance throughout their journey. Through partnerships with colleges and community organizations, OSPSP reaches high need single parents, many of whom may not otherwise be aware of available support, and ensures access to critical services. This year, OSPSP supported 75 low income single parents pursuing postsecondary degrees and maintained an 85 persistence and completion rate, exceeding national benchmarks. Scholars benefit from flexible funding that addresses real time barriers such as childcare, rent, transportation, textbooks, and licensure costs, helping them stay enrolled and progress toward completion. At its core, OSPSP personalized, dignity centered approach empowers single parents to complete their education and transform their futures.
