PLACEMAKING, COMMUNITY SPACES AND PROMOTIONS: PROMOTING DOWNTOWN HOWELL AS THE HEART AND HUB OF THE COMMUNITY TO RESIDENTS AND VISITORS THROUGH PROVIDING QUALITY MARKETING, RETAIL, IMAGE BUILDING, AND OTHER SPECIAL EVENTS. CULTIVATING A SENSE OF PLACE, ENSURING OUR COMMUNITY IS AN ATTRACTIVE PLACE TO LIVE,WORK, AND VISIT. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE HISTORIC PRESERVATION,OUTDOOR ART, COMMUNITY SPACE IMPROVEMENTS, EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES,AND OVERALL BEAUTIFICATION OF THE DOWNTOWN. HOWELL MAIN STREET PROVIDES FACADE AND SIGN GRANTS TO SMALL BUSINESSES IN DOWNTOWN HOWELL. ONE GRANT OF 25,000 WAS FUNDED DURING THE FISCAL YEAR, AND ANOTHER FACADE GRANT OF 15,000 THAT WAS COMMITTED IN A PRIOR FISCAL YEAR REMAINS OUTSTANDING AT THE END OF THIS FISCAL YEAR AND IS REPORTED AS A LIABILITY ON THE 6/30/2024 BALANCE SHEET.
