SPORT (SCENIC PEND OREILLE RIVER TRAIN): PROVIDED 32 PLUS EXCURSION TRAIN RIDES THIS PAST YEAR UTILIZING 20+ VOLUNTEERS THE DAY OF THE RIDES AND BRINGING OVER 1,800 TOURISTS INTO THE AREA EVERY WEEKEND OF OPERATION. MOTHER'S DAY EVE DINNER & AUCTION: RAISED MONEY FOR SCHOLARSHIPS FOR LOCAL GRADUATING SENIORS, CONTINUING EDUCATION AND TECHNICAL SCHOOL STUDENTS. THIS YEAR WE WERE ABLE TO GIVE OUT OVER 10,000 IN SCHOLARSHIPS. WACANID: PARTNERED WITH NINE ROTARY CLUBS IN WASHINGTON, IDAHO, AND CANADA FOR THIS BIKING EVENT. THE EVENT TRAVELS ALONG THE INTERNATIONAL SELKIRK LOOP TRAVELING THROUGH TWO STATES AND CANADA. MEALS AND REST STOPS ARE PROVIDED TO THE RIDERS EVERY DAY PROMOTING TOURISM AND BOOSTING THE LOCAL ECONOMIES ALONG THE ROUTE. PROCEEDS ARE SPLIT BETWEEN PARTICIPATING CLUBS FOR LOCAL PROJECTS. FESTIVITIES IN THE PARK: ADULT, KIDS, AND FAMILY EVENTS INCLUDING ARTS AND CRAFTS, LIFE MUSIC, FREE KIDS GAMES, BEER GARDEN, ETC. PROCEEDS GO TOWARDS LOCAL PROJECTS. TIMBER DAY: THE BLUB RUNS A FOOD BOOTH, WITH PROCEEDS BEING DONATED BACK INTO THE COMMUNITY. LAWNMOWER RACES: THE CLUB IS THE PRIMARY SPONSOR FOR THIS EVENT, MANAGING THE EVENT AND ALSO RUNNING A FOOD BOOTH. PROCEEDS GO TO HELP SPONSOR THIS EVENT AND SUPPORT DEVELOPMENT OF OLDTOWN ROTARY PARK. OPEN HOUSE/COMMUNITY BREAKFAST: HELD A FREE BREAKFAST/OPEN HOUSE FOR THE COMMUNITY TO SHARE INFORMATION ABOUT WHAT ROTARY IS AND WHAT OUR CLUB DOES. THE GOAL IS TO ENCOURAGE NEW MEMBERS AND INFORM THE COMMUNITY OF ALL THE CLUB DOES. HOLIDAY PARTY: A NIGHT OF FUN AND FRIENDS.
