COMMUNITY GREENING ENGAGES RESIDENTS OF ALL AGES IN EFFORTS TO EQUITABLY INCREASE THE TREE CANOPY BY PLANTING AND CARING FOR TREES. IN THIS FISCAL YEAR, WE PLANTED AND DISTRIBUTED 5,498 TREES THROUGH URBAN FORESTRY ACTIVITIES. WE EMPLOY URBAN FORESTRY STAFF AND STUDENTS FROM THE NEIGHBORHOODS WE WORK IN TO HELP MAINTAIN THESE TREES AND LEARN ABOUT COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT. VOLUNTEERS ARE KEY TO OUR SUCCESS- IN FY24/25, 1,322 VOLUNTEERS JOINED US TO PLANT TREES IN PARKS, SCHOOLS, AND NEIGHBORHOODS THROUGHOUT SOUTH FLORIDA AND TO HELP NURTURE YOUNG TREES IN OUR NURSERY.
