Bakken Oil Rush Watford City Outreach continues to be a vital resource in western North Dakota, serving individuals and families in need by providing for their physical, spiritual, and social well-being. Through our work, we help people draw closer to Jesus and become positive contributors to the community.Care. Connect. Collaborate. In 2024, we served our community by distributing essential resources, offering educational programs, and fostering a spirit of generosity. We provided winter wear valued at $35,813, ensuring over 300 McKenzie County families stayed warm. Additionally, our Toy Mall Giveaway provided 272 toys and 544 parent gifts to children in need, bringing joy during the holiday season. Our School Supplies Giveaway helped local students by distributing 205 filled backpacks to prepare them for the school year. We continued expanding our community-building initiatives through education and outreach. In 2024, we held 24 free Spanish/English language classes, bridging cultural gaps and fostering understanding in our diverse community. Recognizing the need for early childhood engagement, we also introduced a bilingual playgroup, providing 12 meet-ups for young children and families to connect and learn together. Community gatherings remained at the heart of our mission, including our Thanksgiving Gathering, where we served 258 free meals to ensure no one went hungry during the holiday. Additionally, we provided $3,527 in CARE Cards, offering direct financial assistance to community members facing hardship.None of this would have been possible without the dedication of our 150+ volunteers, who generously gave their time and effort to serve our neighbors. It is estimated we spent $350,000 in wages offering programs and services to the community. Through these programs and more, we remain committed to providing a hand up, not just a handout, while strengthening our community through compassion, service, and faith.
