Nile Valley has provided an educational location for hundreds of school kids across the metro as well as 30 youth from Mexico. Students and adults are able to learn about where their food comes from and see the STEM (Science, Math, Engineering and Math) and the production it takes from seed to table. Volunteers help with planting and transplanting plants into our aquaponic system, there they can see the cycle of growth as well as the testing that is required to keep our aquaponic system up and running. Nile Valley has hosted people representing over 30 different countries around the world and is one of the food system leaders in the country.

With our workshops and classes, we offer people the tools to not only feed themselves sustainably but their community as well. Some of the classes consist of how to aquaponics, how to build a greenhouse for under $500, how to grow mushrooms, how to can and cooking classes.
Out of the 825 participants including youth (ages 5-18) and adults, fifty percent who attended and completed basic instructional activities were trained in one of our urban farming elements
