Cedar Summerstock Theater annually produces four performances in rural Osage, Iowa. It markets to the Mitchell county area. Shows are directed by professionals in the theater industry, utilizing college level actors and technicians. The purpose is to bring quality theater to underserved rural areas, provide a meaningful experience for college actors and technicians, and create community ties between rural residents and the company that produces the shows. We try to foster a love of the arts in an area that would not otherwise have exposure. Our revenues were substantially lower this year due to COVID and we were fortunate to receive generous government grants that allowed us to continue our season.
