Network participants develop, implement, and evaluate projects that provide individual relief and create collective responses to constituent identified barriers. 2025/2027 Network Supported Projects Community Building: activities designed to reduce social and geographic isolation including community dinners/cookouts; Annual Turkey Dinner; Annual Presents for Parents; ainity groups as requested. Mutual Aid/Resource Sharing: FreeCycle Recycle Clothing and Housewares; economic relief, resource advocacy, sharing and peer to peer supports. Food Share Projects: food assistance for Pine River Valley residents includes weekly Food Shares in Bayfield and Ignacio; monthly USDA TEFAP Emergency Food and CSFP Senior Food box distribution, Bayfield, Ignacio; Food Rescue/Food Couriers; weekly Summer Garden Share; Youth Backpack Projects in Bayfield and Ignacio; Summer Food/Meal Projects for Bayfield and Ignacio youth ages 0 -19; quarterly Food Equity Leadership Council convenings. Organization Support: collective constituent-led activities that support and maintain a non-hierarchical people-powered organization includes weekly Community Leadership meetings; formal consensus decision making; quarterly board of directors' meetings; bi-annual strategic workplan development, implementation, and evaluation; facilitate annual participatory budget development/management; fund development; stipend payment management for all volunteer/constituent leaders; social justice education, advocacy, and action; seek mission-aligned community partnerships. Community Food Farm: Purchased in 2024, this 10 acre centrally located food production site contains 28,000 sf green house space and 3 irrigation ponds. The Farm will ensure access to aordable healthy food for Pine River Valley residents. Field to Fork Projects: constituent developed blueprint for rebuilding an independent food system includes (3) food production/processing field sites (Grow Domes, orchards, inground gardens, community food processing) Bayfield, Vallecito, Allison; Garden Give Aways; Annual Community Apple Harvest and Demo Days; food/nutrition education and skill shares (preschool seniors). Youth Organizing and Leadership: organizing and leadership opportunities for Pine River Valley youth; Youth Voice leadership projects students of Ignacio and Bayfield high schools; youth centered volunteer opportunities. Thrive in Place: peer advocate networks ensuring vulnerable adults in the Valley have resources and support for independent living.
