In 2025, the Independent Veterinary Practitioners Association (IVPA) advanced its strategic initiatives to enhance member benefits, enabling independently owned veterinary practices to better compete with private equity-owned corporations for both talent and clientele. These enhanced benefits helped members manage operational costs more effectively and offer employee perks typically available only to larger organizations.Throughout the year, IVPA achieved several key milestones, including more than doubling its membership and launching quarterly virtual continuing education summits designed to strengthen members business acumen. The podcast project initiated in 2024 is currentlyon hiatus as the organization seeks a volunteer host. IVPA also continued to increase awareness of its mission to support independently owned and locally operated veterinary practices amid growing corporatization in the field. In addition, IVPAs committees actively secured partnerships with vendors and sponsors and exhibited at a national veterinary conference, further strengthening support for the organization and its members. These efforts contribute to the long-term sustainability of independently owned veterinary practices.Looking ahead to 2026, IVPA will continue to focus on member acquisition, engagement, and retention, as well as expanding purchasing agreements that enable members to compete more effectively with corporate and private equity-backed practices. The significant membership growth experienced in 2025 underscores IVPAs commitment to delivering valuable resources to its member clinics. The organization remains well-positioned for continued expansion and success in the coming year.
