Summer Season Performance: Public opera performance in Montclair NJ and NYC in July. The Teatro Nuovo 2024 Bel Canto Season featured the first modern performance of Anna di Resburgo by Carolina Uccelli, the only female composer to reach a major theater in Bel Canto Italy and Bellini's classic I Capuleti e i Montecchi, in its first NYC performance since 2001. Teatro Nuovo's summer program is a Young Artist Program focused on Bel Canto opera training and performance. It offers intensive training in vocalism, musical interpretation, and the Italian language, culminating in performances with a period-instrument orchestra. The program attracts skilled and ambitious singers and often features alumni in mainstage productions.
