Welcome Workshops held at partner locations or on the SHC mobile classroom build English skills, practical life skills, and the confidence needed for broader community engagement. SHC provides early-childhood enrichment activities for all in-person programming and offers twice-weekly online Pre-school for children ages 35.

English Together: English Together is a literacy-based instructional program designed to serve parents of school-aged children in local public schools. Classes include English language learning instruction and may include either, parent engagement content to encourage and enable parents to become more involved in their childs education or community resource content which introduces parents to community, cultural and technology resources so they may become involved members of their community. Some English Together classes may also incorporate a Kindergarten Readiness component, which is designed to help parents equip their pre-school-aged children with the skills and resources needed to come to kindergarten fully ready to learn.

Citizenship Preparation Program: The Citizenship Preparation Program includes classes taught by professionally certified ESL instructors, one on one tutoring, field trips, and activities to promote civic engagement. SHCs English Language and Citizenship Preparation programs empower women with limited formal education who often encounter hurdles accessing English programs, workforce opportunities, citizenship preparation and connecting to the wider community. Students develop the confidence to engage in their new communities and with their new neighbors. Since 2021 more than 170 students enrolled in the program have successfully become US Citizens.
