In the 2023-2024 Year Alisal Community Arts network continued its long standing partnership with the Alisal Union School district and successfully proposed and implemented new programming through the District's Expanded Learning Opportunities Programs (ELOP) funding. The school district contracted ACAN to expand its year-round competing teams from drumline (weekends only), colorguard (weekends only), and mariachi to include guitar ensemble, marimba ensemble, and cheer team - all teams meeting weekly after school and on weekends. The Alisal district additionally contracted ACAN to provide introductory performing arts classes on a rotational basis after school and on Wednesdays. ACAN instructors were able to work additional hours and continue their professional development through teaching these courses. ACAN continued its partnership with CHISPA/Community Housing Improvement Systems & Planning Association to offer all age programs to students in the community on select weeknights. ACAN provided fiscal sponsorship to a fledgling organization, Sparta Indoor Percussion, an independent drumline group that successfully competed in the Northern California Percussion Alliance (NCPA) circuit in its first year. Eight ACAN Staff members performed in Sparta Percussion as part of their development.
