GRANTMAKING PROGRAM. WDN ACTION CONTINUED ITS GRANTMAKING PROGRAM IN 2023 AND CONTINUED TO INVEST IN ADVOCACY AND CIVIC ENGAGEMENT STRATEGIES THAT SUPPORT THE LEADERSHIP, VISION, AND LONG-TERM ORGANIZING OF WOMEN, PEOPLE OF COLOR, YOUNG PEOPLE, AND OTHER UNDERREPRESENTED COMMUNITIES. WDN ACTION MADE $7,395,000 IN GRANTS TO SIXTY-ONE 501(C)(4) ORGANIZATIONS DURING 2023. WITH PRIMARY-PURPOSE AND GENERAL SUPPORT FUNDING, THE ORGANIZATION EMPHASIZED BUILDING LONG-TERM MOVEMENT INFRASTRUCTURE IN STATES AND NATIONALLY, AS WELL AS INVESTING IN THE LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT AND CAPACITY-BUILDING OF ITS GRANTEE PARTNERS. THE ORGANIZATION'S GRANTS INCLUDED SUPPORT FOR ORGANIZATIONS THAT ARE WORKING TO ADVANCE REPRODUCTIVE AND GENDER JUSTICE, RACIAL JUSTICE, TRANS RIGHTS, VOTING RIGHTS AND RURAL ORGANIZING. WDN ACTION GRANTS ALSO SUPPORTED ORGANIZATIONS WORKING TO ENGAGE YOUNG VOTERS, INCLUDING YOUNG IMMIGRANTS AND EFFORTS TO BUILD PATHS TO CITIZENSHIP, ALIGN RESEARCH AND MESSAGING EFFORTS ACROSS THE PRO-DEMOCRACY MOVEMENT, ADVOCATE FOR DOMESTIC WORKERS AND THE CARE ECONOMY, ENSHRINE THE RIGHT TO ABORTION IN STATE CONSTITUTIONS AND COMBAT ANTI-TRANS BILLS IN STATE LEGISLATURES, AND TO INCREASE NATIVE AMERICAN AND ASIAN AMERICAN REPRESENTATION IN ELECTED OFFICE.

AS PART OF ITS EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH TO ENGAGE WOMEN DONORS IN ITS ADVOCACY STRATEGY, THE ORGANIZATION HELD SESSIONS DURING THE WOMEN DONORS NETWORK'S ANNUAL CONFERENCE IN CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA IN NOVEMBER 2023.
