Soil2Serivce Inc. awards acholarships to students at the Detroit Institute of Gastronomy. In order to qualify for scholarship consideration candidate had to be current full-time students in michigan post-secondary schools or praticipants in the planned apprentceship program. A panel of ranked professionals ranked the anonymous applicants by merit selecting recipients by evaluating them according to expiereince in the field grade point average and their answers to essay questions. Scholarship funds may be applied to books and tuition at post-secondary schools that offer a hospitality or culinary arts program. Soil2Service plans to continue this process in future years.
