In 2025, The Chelsea Theater continued its mission to entertain, inspire, and engage through film. As the Triangle's only nonprofit dedicated exclusively to film presentation and learning, the Chelsea welcomed more than 51,000 patrons for independent, international, documentary, and classic films The Theater presented a diverse year-round schedule of screenings, filmmaker conversations, educational programs, partnerships with local organizations, and community events designed to foster dialogue, cultural understanding, and lifelong learning. Signature programs included The Doc Is In documentary series, Chelsea Classics summer film series, late-night and repertory screenings, public discussions, and the annual Jewish Film Festival and Cosmic Rays Festival. In addition to regular programming, the Chelsea expanded community partnerships and audience engagement efforts while undertaking significant technology improvements to maintain high-quality cinematic presentation. Support from members, donors, sponsors, foundations, and volunteers helped sustain the theater as a cultural gathering place and educational resource for the broader community. The Chelsea remains committed to ensuring access to meaningful film experiences that strengthen community connection, encourage thoughtful conversation, and celebrate the art of cinema.
