THE ASCTE FOUNDATION'S MISSION IS TO PARTNER WITH INDUSTRY; LOCAL, STATE, AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AGENCIES; AND ADVANCED ACADEMIA TO AID IN DEVELOPING AND EXECUTING A VISIONARY STRATEGY, RAISE MONEY, AND BUILD AND MANAGE FACILITIES FOR THE SCHOOL. ADDITIONALLY, THE ASCTE FOUNDATION WILL ASSIST WITH FUNDING FOR EQUIPMENT, CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT, EXTRA-CURRICULUAR PROGRAMS, AND MARGIN OF EXCELLENCE PROGRAMS. GRADUATES FROM THE SCHOOL WILL BE PREPARED TO PROTECT AND DEFEND ALABAMA AND THE U. S. FROM AN INCREASING GLOBAL CYBER THREAT. THE SCHOOL WAS ESTABLISHED BY THE ALABAMA LEGISLATURE AND IS CODIFIED IN ALABAMA CODE SECTION 16-26D. THE SCHOOL IS GOVERNED BY A 19 MEMBER BOARD OF TRUSTEES, INCLUDING PRESIDENTS OF SEVEN MAJOR COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES IN ALABAMA. AS A STATEWIDE MAGNET SCHOOL, THE ALABAMA CODE REQUIRES THE SCHOOL TO OFFER A SEAT FOR AT LEAST ONE STUDENT FROM EACH OF THE 137 SCHOOL DISTRICTS IN ALABAMA.
