2024 PROGRAM SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENTS SUMMARY IN 2024, FIRST HOUR GRIEF RESPONSE, INC. SIGNIFICANTLY EXPANDED ITS GRIEF SUPPORT SERVICES TO INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES EXPERIENCING SUDDEN LOSS. THE ORGANIZATION TRAINED 13 NEW GRIEF MENTORS AND GROUP FACILITATORS, INCREASING CAPACITY FOR ONE-TO-ONE AND GROUP-BASED SERVICES. WE HELD 68 FIRST-TIME INDIVIDUAL GRIEF MENTORING SESSIONS, ADDRESSING THE ACUTE NEEDS OF ADULTS FACING SUDDEN LOSS. YOUTH SERVICES SAW MEANINGFUL GROWTH. OUR HOPEWAVE IN-SCHOOL GRIEF PROGRAM PARTNERED WITH FOUR SCHOOLS, DELIVERING GRIEF SUPPORT IN SEVEN CLASSROOM SETTINGS AND SERVING 49 STUDENTS. ADDITIONALLY, 18 YOUTH (AGES 8-18) ATTENDED MONTHLY YOUTH GRIEF WORKSHOPS, PROVIDING PEER CONNECTION AND CREATIVE OUTLETS FOR HEALING. WE PROVIDED TARGETED SUPPORT TO MARGINALIZED POPULATIONS. THE STRIDES FOR HEALING SUICIDE-LOSS PROGRAM SERVED 6 ATTENDEES THROUGH A THERAPEUTIC WORKSHOP. EXODUS, A BI-MONTHLY SUPPORT GROUP FOR THE UNHOUSED POPULATION, CONSISTENTLY REACHED AN AVERAGE OF 5 PARTICIPANTS PER SESSION, ADDRESSING GRIEF IN A HIGH-RISK COMMUNITY. OUR SPECIALIZED GRIEF SUPPORT GROUPS WERE HELD AT MULTIPLE LOCATIONS, INCLUDING MARQUETTE AND SECC BLANKENBAKER, FOR PEOPLE GRIEVING THE LOSS OF A SPOUSE, CHILD, PARENT, OR MISCARRIAGE. WE ALSO FACILITATED BIBLE-BASED GRIEF SUPPORT STUDIES FOR DEEPER SPIRITUAL PROCESSING. OUR THRIVE WORKSHOPS-MONTHLY CREATIVE HEALING EVENTS FOR GRIEVING ADULTS- WERE HELD NINE TIMES, FEATURING ACTIVITIES SUCH AS PAINTING, BRACELET MAKING, AND MANDALA CREATION, WITH AN AVERAGE OF 6-8 ATTENDEES EACH. THE HOLIDAY GRIEF WORKSHOP, HELD AT STUDIO NULU AND FEATURING AUTHOR SANDY GROSS, HOSTED 18 GRIEVING PARTICIPANTS AND 5 STAFF MEMBERS, PROVIDING TOOLS FOR COPING WITH SEASONAL GRIEF TRIGGERS. IN NOVEMBER, WE CONDUCTED TWO "HOW TO HELP A GRIEVER" LUNCHEONS (TOTALING 20 ATTENDEES) TO EDUCATE COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND PROFESSIONALS ON GRIEF SENSITIVITY. PROGRAM SERVICES OVERVIEW CORE PROGRAMS INCLUDED: "ONE-TO-ONE GRIEF MENTORING "HOPEWAVE IN-SCHOOL YOUTH PROGRAM "MONTHLY YOUTH GRIEF WORKSHOPS "HOLIDAY GRIEF WORKSHOP "EMDR THERAPY SCHOLARSHIPS "STRIDES FOR HEALING SUICIDE-LOSS SUPPORT "THRIVE (ADULT CONNECTION WORKSHOPS) "GRIEF SUPPORT GROUPS (LOSS OF SPOUSE, PARENT, CHILD, INFANT/MISCARRIAGE) "BIBLE-BASED GRIEF STUDIES "EXODUS: SUPPORT FOR THE UNHOUSED PROGRAM SERVICE EXPENSES AND INCOME PROGRAM SERVICES EXPENSE: 87,294 PROGRAM SERVICES INCOME: 14,261 (INCLUDES 50% OF SALARY FOR DIANE CURTIS CLARK DUE TO DIRECT SERVICE DELIVERY IN HOPEWAVE AND CLIENT SUPPORT; INCLUDES RELATED MARKETING EXPENSES.)
