Prologue Theatre, founded in 2018, is a micro nonprofit in the Arts, Culture & Humanities sector that reported $90K in total revenue in fiscal year 2018.

Mission

Prologue Theatre had two full productions in the calendar year 2023 (The Cake and Monsters of the American Cinema), continued its new works series FOREWORD by workshopping three new plays, and was awarded the John Aniello Outstanding Emerging Theatre Company Award by Theatre Washington at the Helen Hayes Awards in May. Like virtually all DC area theatre companies, Prologue continued to struggle post COVID with audience attendance, especially for the summer production.
