A CHILD'S PLACE PA IS CERTIFIED AND APPROVED BY THE PENNSYLVANIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WELFARE TO PROVIDE CHILD WELFARE SERVICES FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH IN THE COUNTIES OF : ALLEGHENY, WESTMORELAND, FAYETTE, BEAVER, WASHINGTON AND BUTLER. SINCE 1999, A CHILD'S PLACE, PA HAS BEEN A LEADER IN THE ASSESSMENT AND PREVENTION OF CHILD ABUSE IN WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA. ACP IS A FULLY-ACCREDITED CHILD ADVOCACY CENTER DEDICATED TO IMPROVING THE HEALTH, SAFETY, AND WELL-BEING OF CHILDREN, PARTICULARLY THOSE AT RISK FOR ABUSE AND NEGLECT. ACP PROVIDES A CHILD-FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE IN WHICH SUSPECTED CHILD VICTIMS OF ABUSE AND NEGLECT ARE EVALUATED, IN ADDITION TO EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY SERVICES RELATED TO THE ASSESSMENT AND PREVENTION OF PHYSICAL, SEXUAL, AND EMOTIONAL ABUSE OF CHILDREN, INCLUDING OUR HEALTHY PARENTING CLASSES, SUPPORT FOR CURRENTLY OR PREVIOUSLY INCARCERATED MOTHERS, AND OUTREACH AND AWARENESS FOR HUMAN TRAFFICKING. FOR THE PERIOD OF THIS REPORT, ACP PROVIDED CHILD ADVOCACY SERVICES TO MORE THAN 2,000 CHILDREN, PROVIDED MORE THAN 100 HUMAN TRAFFICKING TRAININGS, AND GRADUATED IT'S 300TH PARENT FROM THE TRIPLE P EVIDENCE-BASED PARENT EDUCATION CURRICULUM. ADDITIONALLY, ACP CONTINUES TO ASSIST APPROXIMATELY 20 INCARCERATED WOMEN EACH MONTH WITH CASE MANAGEMENT INFORMATION, SUBSTANCE ABUSE INFORMATION, AND REFERRALS INTO A SUPPORT PROJECT THAT ENABLES THESE WOMEN TO READ, RECORD, AND SEND STORYBOOKS TO THEIR CHILDREN.
