Community Exchange Programs (i.e. Power hours, power of play dates). We fostered and cultivated community healing and violence prevention by hosting community healing circles, various support groups, memorials, vigils, and restorative justice events that gave survivors, neighbors, and youth safe spaces to process grief and build resilience. We also reduced community stigma around trauma, by fostering trust with survivors and allowing them the place to parlay transferable skills they developed. Overall, this contributed to more cohesive communities.

Summer Camp provided space for youth centered and led programming that included intergenerational opportunities for seniors and elders to offer guidance and wisdom. Young survivors participate in mentoring, coaching and leadership development. Over 40 young people between 5-18 designed and developed intergenerational activities that sparked discussion about and further emotional and social development. Survivors led community service projects, stoop storytelling and oversaw day to day operations. 90% of summer cam participants remain active all year around and have grown into peer ambassadors or been recruited for more opportunities. All participants gained industry recognized credentials.
