Advocacy: During 2023, the ISDA advocated for the establishment of clear laws and rules to support implementation of telehealth technologies in dentistry, continued improvement of the dental program in Medicaid, and appropriate payment methods from dental plans to providers. The Association also provided continued support for refinancing options for student loans to address the high costs of dental education, and efforts to ensure a fair playing field between dentists and third-party payers.

The ISDA continued monthly TV segments in the largest Idaho market educating the public on the importance of oral health care and highlighting safety protocols designed to protect both patients and practitioners from the spread of COVID-19, encouraging the public to continue to see their dentist. The Association provides a sustained social media presence to increase connection with community and provides relevant oral health care topics, with an average reach of 2,000 per month.
