POWER's (People Organized Working Evolving Reaching) mission is to give low-income minority and underserved communities the capacity to build and thrive eliminating disparities in aging education finance food insecurity health housing wellness and social justice and reform. Our significant activities include: 1. Senior Connect: Providing life-saving technology with pre-programmed Kindle Fire tablets to seniors ages 65+. The tablets connect to telehealth providers for chronic disease management ordering groceries ordering medications and community family wellness checks. Over 8,000 tablets distributed. 2. Project F.E.E.D. (Friends Ensuring Every Dinner): Providing nutritious USDA approved food boxes to those food insecure primarily in low-income minority and underserved communities. Annually over 9,000 food boxes have been distributed through pop-up locations and drive-thrus in response to COVID-19 and keeping our volunteers and staff safe while assisting the community.
