All kittens and cats in the foster-to-adopt program receive veterinary care, vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. The number of cats and kittens in the foster-to-adopt information is reported to the Virginia Department of Agriculture annually.

Pet retention/colony maintenance program: In 2025, we continued our monthly food drives at local pet-food stores plus individual donations of food which was distributed to people feeding colony cats. We collected $18,968 worth of food. In addition, Cat Action Team spent $27,626 buying/distributing food. Medical costs amounted to approximately $15,450. We assisted approximately 43 households and over 250 cats.
