This year Bocon's Educational Programs included Dance and Puppetry Summer Camps at four school and community centers, engaging 235 children, and marked our 10th year of an arts residency at Balboa Elementary, reaching over 500 students. The residency featured 400 culturally and socially responsive workshops led by professional dance, theater, and visual artists. For our productions, we toured BRAT, a play about the experiences of military children, to five military-related locations, including a military base, with an audience of 444, primarily made up of military families. Additionally, we developed Hip Hop Don't Stop, a new play about a San Diego Filipino single father who reconnects with his younger self to become the parent his teenage children need.
