Santa Barbara County, an area of nearly 4,000 square miles, 45% of which is part of Los Padres National Forest, and bounded by 110 miles of rugged coastline, is home to some 450,000 people who live with the inherent dangers of fire, flood, and earthquakes. Under 1,000 First RespondersFire, Police, and Sheriffprotect residents and their property and must be ready at all times for every kind of emergency. Since One805s founding in 2021 with a 10-hour appreciation music festival event for over 3,000 First Responders to the 2018 Montecito debris flow disaster, One805 has made over 50 grants to First Responder agencies in the County, distributing $6 million for wellness and needed equipment, and building up a Mental Wellbeing Reserve Fund of $760,000, with funds directed by an advisory board comprised of leaders from all 12 County First Responder agencies.
