Substance Exposed Newborn (SEN) Committee Facilitated the Converse with a Nurse series on Wednesdays. AHC assisted in sharing spike alert messages on social media, ensuring timely and widespread awareness of the overdose crisis in the county. The organization participated in the annual community survey. Participated in CADCA National Summit to learn prevention strategies to bring back to Pasco County. Partnered with University of South Florida and held a Community Focus Group to discuss the strengths, potential gaps, perceptions, attitudes and future opportunities in prevention and treatment across Pasco County. Attended the National Prevention Summit, which focused on strategies and initiatives to combat substance misuse and promote public health. The summit provided a platform for sharing best practices and innovative approaches to prevention efforts nationwide. AHC hosted free to the community Youth Night Out events each quarter. Families from the area attended. AHC hosted a Strategic Prevention Framework Training for community with 25 attendees learning about prevention strategies to bring back to their organizations. Nation Opioid and RX summit in Atlanta, GA. Several ASAP Coalition members brought back materials to put to practical application in Pasco including Harm Reduction Vending Machines and fentanyl test strips. Worked with Mothers Against Drunk Driving to have April declared Alcohol Awareness Month in the city of New Port Richey, Florida. ASAPs Opioid Committee hosted their annual Town Hall Event, Prioritizing Community Voices, at Starkey Ranch Theatre Library. Participated in the DEA Takeback Event in collaboration with Pasco Sheriffs Office, collecting 279 pounds of unused medications. Began dispensing fentanyl test strips to community, working closely with Pasco County Fire Rescue to get harm reduction modalities into the hands of all post-overdose survivors and community members. Supported Majories Hope Lunch.
