THE PURPOSE OF SAMUEL AND SOLOMON CHARITIES, INC. IS AS FOLLOWS: THE CHARITABLE GOAL OF SAMUEL AND SOLOMON CHARITIES, INC. (THE "ORGANIZATION") IS TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL AND EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE TO THE VERY POOR AND DISTRESSED MEMBERS OF SOCIETY IN THE FORM OF CONTRIBUTIONS OR GRANTS TO CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS (DEFINED BELOW) FOR THE PURPOSE OF HELPING PEOPLE BETTER THEMSELVES, THEIR FAMILIES, AND THEIR COMMUNITY. THE ORGANIZATION WILL PRIMARILY FOCUS ON ASSISTING THE MOST VULNERABLE OF LOGAN COUNTY, KENTUCKY AND SURROUNDING AREAS, WITH AN EMPHASIS ON PROVIDING RELIEF TO CHILDREN, THE ELDERLY, AND THOSE SUFFERING FROM DRUG ADDICTION. LOGAN COUNTY IS A RURAL AREA LOCATED IN SOUTHERN KENTUCKY. AS IS COMMON FOR MANY RURAL COMMUNITIES IN THE UNITED STATES, LOGAN COUNTY AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS FACE WIDESPREAD DRUG ABUSE RELATED TO THE OPIOID CRISIS IN THIS COUNTRY.
