Activities in our Principal Areas of Focus: Continued invasive removal to protect trees, restore the natural landscape and open the area to promote accessibility and usability. Our primary initial areas of focus have been cutting Chinese Wisteria from existing canopy trees, saplings, and native shrubs, and removing a large bamboo infestation by cutting and herbicide treating to prevent regrowth. We plan to maintain the area through ongoing treatments and manage other invasive plants within and around those zones. We have begun restorative tree planting with native species to fill in gaps created by invasive removal. This work is ongoing and is being conducted under contracts from the Friends with Red Tail Restorations and Ron's Tree Service.

Working to establish a family-friendly primitive trail network, with easy and safe access from surrounding neighborhoods, and informative signage to support neighboring community use and enjoyment of the Preserve. Marked initial trails which have now been cleared of fallen-tree obstacles. We are continuing efforts to create a safe and enjoyable marked trail network for neighborhood use.
