Rural Community Health Advocacy: A) Mental Health Free Suicide Prevention Training: We continue our goals to 1) Reduce stigma associated with behavioral health crisis and suicide and 2) Educate the community as a whole about suicide warning signs, prevention skills, and available resources through use of BHT County Equity Project Funding resources by offering free QPR training to Ferry County residents and those providing services in Ferry County to residents, also provided two day in-person ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills) training at the county fairgrounds ... B) Outreach/Emergency Prep/1st Responders: To address this issue, our partners selected three areas of concern to address, initially through use of C19 Rural Equity Funding: 1) Lack of adequate road & resident signage to facilitate first responders to timely reach residents in need (connecting 911 to doorstep), 2) Inadequate emergency housing (temporary pallet housing), 3) Volunteerism (Is rural volunteerism on life support?), 4) Rural Mobile Integrated Health Network, and 5) Increasing Healthy Ferry County organizational capacity. We continued making progress in 2024.
