Clean, Safe, and Beautiful (7/1/23-6/30/24): In the FY24 SWCBD prioritized key areas: public safety, neighborhood cleanliness,and inclusive community programming. SWCBD ambassadors hard work is driven by real-time data collected through multiple channels. During FY24 we had picked up 627,950 pounds of trash, completed 86,231 sweeping tasks, 55,236 hazardous tasks, removed 15,699 bags of trash, completed 5,595 landscaping tasks, 8,212 graffiti tasks, 9.598 bulk removal tasks and 11,852 other tasks. SWCBD rolled out and maintain over 35 new planters, boulders, throughout the district, bringing more green into our neighborhood. This is an ongoing program that will continue and expand. This year showed the strength of our communitys collaboration and resilience. SOMA West saw major improvements in cleanliness, safety, local business support, and social initiativesmaking it more vibrant, welcoming, and thriving for all.

Marketing and Advocacy (7/1/23-6/30/24): SWCBD continued to work with scores of neighborhood groups, such as the Leather & LGBTQ Cultural District, to hold diverse and welcoming events and activate streets in the district. SWCBD spearheaded the committee responsible for naming the future park at 11th and Natoma. We are cosponsor of the Satuday Neighborhood Cleanup, which happens weekly, rain or shine, and Our Place in the Park Urban Film Fest. SWCBD activated special projects: VMD Park Sidewalk Seating, SOMA West Summer Quest.
