PROMOTING EXCELLENCE. NACC promotes better outcomes for children and families impacted by the child welfare system by working to ensure lawyers who represent children, parents, and agencies provide high-quality legal representation. In 2023 NACC trained over 5000 attorneys and judges including through an online training course and 4 custom state trainings developed and delivered by national experts in the field. NACC also certified 27 new attorneys as Child Welfare Law Specialists and published the 2nd Edition Children's Law Office Guidebook. NACC also delivered its first Race Equity Training Series and Representing Infants and Toddlers Training.

BUILDING COMMUNITY. NACC builds communities of practice among child welfare legal professionals through our membership program, national conference, and online convenings. NACC convened over 650 practitioners in Minneapolis and 350 more online for our 46th National Child Welfare Law Conference. NACC's State Coordinator program expanded to 39 states/jurisdictions. NACC expanded law school engagement, adding 4 new student chapters, publishing a Child Welfare Law Career Guide, and hosting its first Child Welfare Law Career Fair. NACC also convened and partnered with NACC's National Advisory Council on Children's Legal Representation (NACCLR), a group of young professionals with lived experience in the child welfare system who advise NACC.

PROMOTING JUSTICE. NACC provides a leading national voice on children's legal advocacy. In 2023 NACC published a revised Policy Framework to set advocacy priorities and joined important legal briefs as amicus counsel. Also in 2023, NACC expanded the Counsel for Kids campaign, website (https://counselforkids.org/), and advocacy toolkit, including the publication of a new policy paper: Seen, Heard, and Represented: A Policymaker's Guide to Counsel for Kids. Children in court need lawyers of their own. We're working to make sure they have them.
