YAMPA VALLEY LAND TRUST WAS BEQUEATHED A 250-ACRE HISTORIC RANCH IN APRIL 2009, NOW KNOWN AS THE REHDER RANCH NATURE PRESERVE. IN 2010, THE ROUTT COUNTY COMMISSIONERS DESIGNATED THE 5-ACRE BUILDING AREA ON THE PROPERTY TO THE ROUTT COUNTY REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES. THE HISTORIC STRUCTURES ASSESSMENT(HSA), FUNDED BY A 2010 GRANT AWARDED BY THE HISTORY COLORADO STATE HISTORICAL FUND AND COMPLETED IN 2011, EVALUATES AND PRIORITIZES THE STABILIZATION AND REHABILITATION REQUIREMENTS OF THE HISTORIC BUILDINGS ON THE PROPERTY IN 2012. YVLT RECEIVED AN ADDITIONAL GRANT FROM HISTORIC COLORADO STATE HISTORICAL FUND TO ASSIST IN THE STRUCTURAL REHABILITATION OF THE HISTORIC BANK BARN WHICH WAS IDENTIFIED AS THE FIRST PRIORITY IN THE HSA. IN 2013, THE NATIONAL TRUST FOR HISTORIC PERSERVATION SUPPLEMENTED THESE FUNDS BY AWRDING AN ADDITIONAL GRANT FOR THIS BANK BARN STABILIZATION PROJECT WHICH WAS COMPLETED AT THE END OF 2014. ADDITIONALLY, YVLT CONTINUES TO SHARE THE REHDER RANCH NATURE PRESERVE WITH SCIENTIST, RESEARCHERS, INTERNS AND SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES SUCH AS:ANIMAL TRACKING, BIRD WATCHING, BAT STUDIES, FISH AND WILDLIFE STUDIES, COLLECTION OF BOTANICALS, PLEIN AIR PAINTING, HISTORICAL RESEARCH AND ARCHAEOLOGICAL STUDIES.
