THE TREES ACROSS COLORADO PROGRAM DISTRIBUTED 3073 TREES TO 31 GROUPS & COMMUNITIES IN APRIL. THE TREE LIST INCLUDED 43 DIFFERENT SPECIES OF SHADE TREES.THE CTC AWARDED 18 COMMUNITY GRANTS WITH 14 PROJECTS COMPLETED TOTALING $49,858 IN GRANT FUNDS. THIS INCLUDED FOUR XCEL FOUNDATION GRANTS.THE CHAMPION TREE PROGRAM MAINTAINED AND UPDATED A DATABASE OF THE LARGEST TREES BY SPECIES, IN THE STATE WITH 804 TREES LISTED BY YEAR END. OLIVER GEORGIADES, A FIFTH GRADER FROM RENAISSANCE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN CASTLE ROCK WAS SELECTED AS THE WINNER OF THE 2024 COLORADO ARBOR DAY POSTER CONTEST. 33 SCHOOLS FROM ACROSS THE STATE SUBMITTED ENTRIES. OUR COMMUNITY EDUCATION EVENTS INCLUDED SIX FRONT RANGE URBAN FORESTRY COUNCIL MEETINGS.
