BERTHOUD HABITAT FOR HUMANITY INC

In an effort to build capacity to further our impact in alignment with our mission, it was clear that we needed to increase our staff to do so. Accordingly, the beginning of the fiscal year began with kicking off a recruitment process to hire a part-time Administrative Assistant and full-time Construction Director. Both employees commenced their employment in August. We also completed and sold 1764 N 4th St to a homeowner!September proved to be a fruitful month as follows:The Board of Directors approved the formation of a partnership with the Cherry Creek Innovation Campus in which the students in the program built a modular home which will be set on a foundation come winter 2025 closing out the 4th Street Subdivision.The Berthoud Housing Steering Committee commenced as a result of the DOLA grant the Town of Berthoud was awarded earlier in February, which consisted of the Planning Commission, two members of the Board of Trustees, the Executive Director for the Loveland Housing Authority, and the Executive Director of Berthoud Habitat for Humanity. In conjunction, the Town hired Ayres Associates, a consulting firm to conduct a comprehensive housing diversity study resulting in significant data produced clearly stating the affordable housing crisis in the community. Berthoud Habitat for Humanity received nine donated lots within the Harvest 47 subdivision!Upon sharing her overall vision with the Board of Directors, in completing due diligence in regard to potential solutions that would yield increased revenue and community awareness and engagement while centralizing operations, the Executive Director initially inquired with the Town of Berthoud Planning Department about the possibility of pursing an opportunity to relocate and increase retail floor square footage ReStore and build out of permanent administrative office space also in September. In November, we completed and sold 1766 N 4th St to a homeowner!As a result of partnership development efforts, the Executive Director received an estimate from Asher Architects + Engineers to create a concept plan to redevelop the Old Town Hall site inclusive of space for the administrative office and ReStore as well as community amenities in direct alignment with needs and desires expressed by the Town Board of Trustees as well as community members and the Towns recent brand assessment results.In May, the Town Administrator and Community Development Director expressed interest in scheduled a time for the Executive Director to present the concept to the Board of Trustees in an effort to gauge overall interest and desire to complete due diligence to determine project viability.
