Our Adoption Program helps animal adoption agencies in Washington State find homes for the homeless dogs and cats in their care by increasing adoption opportunities through events and our #WhyNotMePets campaign, which focuses on increasing the attention to long-term and harder to adopt cats and dogs who need an extra paw up to find their forever home. We coordinated 6 adoption events that included 19 partner rescues/shelters and over 80 dogs. Our #WhyNotMePets campaign highlighted 25 cats and dogs that had been without a forever home for more than a year or had special needs.

Our Spay and Neuter Program increases the number of high quality, low-cost cat and dog spay and neuter surgeries being performed in Washington State. We create new and expand existing programs, as well as raise funds to assist them, and we target areas with high rates of cat and dog overpopulation with few affordable surgery options. In 2024 we provided assistance to 1,305 cats and dogs throughout Washington state. All individuals and families that received assistance through this program were at or below the poverty threshold for their counties or residence

Our Pet Retention Program focuses on keeping pets with their caretaker and preventing pets from ending up in a shelter. To help lost pets return to their homes as quickly and safely as possible, we are focused on providing free or low-cost pet ID tags in communities throughout Washington State. Additionally, we honor that income should not be a barrier to keeping a pet. Thus, we help those most vulnerable in our community, the homeless and low-income, care for their pets as well as abandoned cats and dogs. Pawsitive Alliance is working with our partners to provide medical care, pet ID, and supplies for the pets of these community members to keep them safe and cared for. In 2024 we collected and distributed over 46,000 pounds of pet food and supplies, and provided Pet IDs to over 1700 pets.
