Field Trips Starting in the summer with Summer Learning field trips and continuing throughout the school year, at least one grade or group from all 13 Henderson County Public Schools elementary schools made it to the farm on a field trip! Students from other counties, private schools, and home schools also visited to make a total of 38 field trips for 1,680 students. Depending on the grade level, students rotated through activities such as touring the farmhouse, visiting the Heritage Weavers & Fiber Artists, and going into the replica one-room schoolhouse. A new rotation where students completed a nature scavenger walk was a highlight for many!

Day Camps This fiscal year, the farm hosted more than 100 campers at three elementary Farm & Arts Camps (partnering with the Arts Council of Henderson County) and one middle school Farm Camp. Campers played games, made crafts, cared for the animals, and learned along the way! While camps are a great way to bring youth to the farm, they are also an important source of revenue.

Other Educational Programs 313 guests went on 74 guided tours throughout the year. Over 1,602 visitors explored the farm on their own. This number does not represent the number of people who visit in the evenings and on weekends. The farm held two sessions of Farm School: Hands-on Learning for Homeschoolers for 32 students. 16 Boy Scouts also attended the Plant Science or Citizenship in the Nation Merit Badge programs.
