The Mariachi Women's Foundation (MWF) achieved its 10th Mariachi Women's Festival that highlighted 3 all-female professional mariachi groups, one that is a two-time Grammy winner. Additionally, the MWF collaborated with the Los Angeles Unified School District providing mariachi workshops for six schools and community groups that attended the festival and were exposed to the performances of these all-female professional mariachi groups. Several hours prior to entering the indoor festival, the mariachi students of the LAUSD, demosntrated what they learned through the mariachi workshops at an outdoor Youth Mariachi Showcase. Students were from low-income underresourced communtieis and schools. Total participation was about 3,000. Additionally, audience was diverse but predominately Latino and intergenrational.
