THE PURPOSE OF FILLMORE SQUARE IS TO FOSTER WHOLENESS IN URBAN COMMUNITIES BY PROVIDING AFFORDABLE, HEALTHY FOOD, WORKFORCE AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES, AND A PLACE OF FELLOWSHIP.THE ORGANIZATION PLANS TO HAVE TWO MAIN ACTIVITIES: AN INSTRUCTIONAL JOB-TRAINING PROGRAM AND AN ON-THE-JOB FOOD SERVICE TRAINING PROGRAM. EACH YEAR, THE ORGANIZATION PLANS TO HAVE TWO COHORTS OF PARTICIPANTS IN PROGRAMS. EACH COHORT WILL RECEIVE 10 WEEKS OF INSTRUCTIONAL JOB-TRAINING FOLLOWED BY 15 WEEKS OF ON-THE-JOB FOOD SERVICE TRAINING. THE INSTRUCTIONAL JOB-TRAINING WILL BE A HYBRID OF LIVE AND REMOTE INSTRUCTION UNTIL IT IS SAFE FOR THE ORGANIZATION TO HAVE FULL-TIME LIVE INSTRUCTION. THE INSTRUCTIONAL JOB TRAINING WILL BE CONDUCTED BY THE ORGANIZATION IN THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA THE ORGANIZATION WILL ALLOCATE 40 PERCENT OF ITS TOTAL TIME TO THE JOB TRAINING, AND THIS ACTIVITY WILL BE FUNDED BY DONATIONS AND PROFITS FROM THE ORGANIZATIONS FOOD SERVICE BUSINESS ACTIVITIES. THIS ACTIVITY WILL FURTHER THE ORGANIZATIONS EXEMPT PURPOSES BY PROVIDING WORKFORCE AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES TO PARTICIPANTS.THE ON-THE-JOB FOOD SERVICE TRAINING WILL BE CONDUCTED THROUGH A FOOD TRUCK BUSINESS THAT WILL OPERATE IN THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA. THE FOOD TRUCK BUSINESS WILL PROVIDE PARTICIPANTS WITH EXPERIMENTAL TRAINING AND AN OPPORTUNITY TO APPLY WHAT THEY HAVE LEARNED FROM THE INSTRUCTIONAL JOB-TRAINING PROGRAM TO AN ACTUAL BUSINESS. THE ORGANIZATION WILL ALLOCATE 60 PERCENT OF ITS TOTAL TIME TO ITS FOOD SERVICE ACTIVITIES, AND WILL BE FUNDED BY DONATIONS AND PROFITS FROM THE ORGANIZATIONS FOOD SERVICE BUSINESS ACTIVITIES. THE FOOD SERVICE ACTIVITIES WILL FURTHER THE ORGANIZATIONS EXEMPT PURPOSES BY PROVIDING WORKFORCE AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITES TO PARTICIPANTS. IN ADDITION, THIS ACTIVITY WILL SERVE AFFORDABLE AND HEALTHY MEALS TO THE COMMUNITY AS A WAY TO FOSTER WHOLENESS AND FELLOWSHIP.
