DURING THE YEAR, THE ORGANIZATION PARTICIPATED IN ACTIVITIES TO PROTECT AND PROMOTE THE HISTORIC SIGNIFICANCE AND COMMUNITY OF THE LENOX HILL NEIGHBORHOOD IN NEW YORK CITY. THE ORGANIZATION AND ITS VOLUNTEERS ATTENDED AND PARTICIPATED IN LOCAL COMMUNITY BOARD MEETINGS WHERE INTERESTED PARTIES WERE GIVEN AN OPPORTUNITY TO DISCUSS THEIR VIEWS REGARDING NON-RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT IN THE LENOX HILL HISTORIC NEIGHBORHOOD. THE ORGANIZATION ATTENDED THE NEW YORK CITY DEPARTMENT OF CITY PLANNING'S SCOPING HEARING TO CONSIDER THE ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW OF NORTHWELL HEALTH'S PROPOSAL TO REDEVELOP THE LENOX HILL HOSPITAL SITE. AT THE SCOPING HEARING, THE ORGANIZATION'S VOLUNTEERS AND ITS CONSULTANTS MADE STATEMENTS AND SUBMITTED WRITTEN COMMENTS. IN SEPTEMBER 2023, THE ORGANIZATION SPONSORED A COMMUNITY TOWN HALL MEETING, ATTENDED BY MORE THAN 400 PEOPLE, AT WHICH THE ORGANIZATION'S VOLUNTEERS, CONSULTANTS, REPRESENTATIVES OF VARIOUS CIVIC ORGANIZATIONS AND ELECTED OFFICIALS EXPRESSED THEIR VIEWS REGARDING NORTHWELL HEALTH'S PROPOSAL TO REDEVELOP THE LENOX HILL HOSPITAL SITE. TO SUPPORT THESE ACTIVITIES, THE ORGANIZATION ENGAGED STRATEGIC CONSULTANTS, LAND USE AND ZONING CONSULTANTS, HEALTHCARE POLICY CONSULTANTS AND LOBBYING AND LEGAL CONSULTANTS.
