Between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024, The Hive provided dynamic, inclusive programming that served over 600 youth across La Plata County through skateboarding, music, art, mentorship, and outdoor experiences. Despite the closure of our downtown location in May, we continued to operate impactful programs offsite and in collaboration with community partners.Highlights and accomplishments include:*Winter Ride Days: Served 75 youth from 9R and surrounding districts, teaching snowboarding skills while fostering connection, perseverance, and confidence through mentorship.*Drop In Skatepark: Reached over 350 community members at our indoor skate park, offering lessons, and positive youth engagement.*Creative Youth Workshops: Engaged over 80 participants in art and music sessions, including sewing, painting, theatre and more.*Youth Advisory Board: A paid leadership opportunity for 10 youth who planned events, contributed to decision-making, and represented youth voices in community discussions.*Wild Hive Summer Program: Welcomed 45 youth ages 1218 into a six-week immersive summer experience, *Provided 80% scholarships for participant families in need, thanks to generous community support.Despite challenges, The Hive has remained a vital hub for youth empowerment and creative explorationand with our new permanent space secured for 2025, we are poised to expand this impact even further.
