Averaged 58 kids in each six-week program session serving over 150 unique youth & enrolling a total of 349 youth. Program satisfaction was evident by Rockford Barbells retention rate of 60% as well as 87% who would recommend the program to a friend. Different from the traditional therapy model of serving a child 1 hour per week, Rockford Barbell provides its free programing up to 4 days per week. The organization was able to provide 3,605 contact hours over the fiscal year. Increased contact with youth helps develop stronger relationships with kids and families and produce greater social-emotional development. Rockford Barbell uses the Social Skills Improvement Scale (SSIS) to measure social-emotional skills. An average of 83% of parents reported improvement in their childs social-emotional skills or a decrease in behavioral health risk factors. The organizations programs continue to see positive results from kids and families.
