NEW BEGINNINGS SOBER LIVING FOUNDATION

CFH Community Impact Report of 2024 Changing the Faces of Homelessness (CFH) is a nonprofit 501c3 organization serving the community as a permanent supportive housing provider for individuals experiencing homelessness. We offer shared housing with supportive services such as case management and general counseling on site. Our motto is Healing with Housing and Self-Ownership = Great Success. We also provide social services through our Resource Movement Center that brings financial stability, youth empowerment services, housing resources, health and wellness to families and individuals experiencing hardships or losses due to trauma, unemployment etc. Our goal is to empower others by providing the necessary resources and tools to help them regain self-sufficiency by offering life altering programs. CFH also provides life-changing outreach programs throughout the year. During February of 2024 Changing the Faces of Homelessness hosted a community outreach for the homeless RV encampment in Gardena CA where CFH provided food, clothing, blankets with assisting senior citizens with housing services. During the RV encampment outreach over 150 individuals including the senior and veteran population were served. Furthermore, as the outreach the team was serving, they met Ms. Lupe, an elder residing in her car and as the team listened to her story, CFH understood many seniors were homeless residing in their vehicles and RVs. CFH also hosted our 1st Resource Movement Center Community Outreach program on Skid Row where we partnered with Helping Hands of LA Food Bank and provided over 250 individuals including families with groceries. CFH also provided a hot meal and resources by partnering with Lend An Ear Hotline Center, Aegis Opioid Treatment Program, Health Advocates LLC, Turning Point Reentry and Delete the Divide Youth Empowerment Program. After hosting the Resource Movement Center CFH returned to Skid Row in August of 2024 and hosted the 5th Annual Breakthrough Event. The Breakthrough Event is CFH community block party where CFH closes the main streets of Skid Row. During the 5th Annual Breakthrough CFH partnered with the Helping Hands of LA Food Bank and provided over 500 individuals who were experiencing homelessness with. Changing the Faces of Homelessness also provided over 300 hot meals and partnered with CFM Radio Show, Faith In Motion, Fathers & Mothers, Wecamp8ministries, Concierge Medical Group, Skid Row Limit, Joy Health Services, Whole System Learning, Therapeutic Play Foundation and the DOF Foundation. During the Breakthrough Event over 800 individuals were served and provided resources, clothing and hygiene products. CFH also enrolled 25 women and children into our family housing referral program where 20 of the 25 families were referred to Chosen Gospel Recovery Center for Women and Children for housing. Changing the Faces of Homelessness is committed to providing services that will bring a positive impact to the community we serve by implementing a program that restores hope with empowerment that moves people from a life of hopelessness into a new life of success. CFH is a recipient of the 2024 3rd JCOD CFCI Grant with the Amity Foundation and the recipient of 2024 Ready to Rise Youth Grant. CFH is also featured as a Community Highlight on Staplesconnect.com and has been featured in Enspire Magazine and Black Girl Nerds.
