CAMTB is 501(c)(4) coalition representing and supporting 30+ CA trail advocacy organizations, which combined represent 250,000+ mountain bikers across the state. CAMTB is organized: (i) to provide a unified statewide voice for organizations and individuals with common interests in improving and increasing trail access and other off-road opportunities for cyclists throughout California; (ii) to advocate for improved opportunities to steward, care for, create, and experience California's open spaces; (iii) to provide leadership in protection and preservation of the environment by advocating for the development of informed public policy and by encouraging the establishment and management of protected land that will increase and improve off-road cycling opportunities and experiences within the State of California; (iv) to serve as a platform for California organizations and advocates to organize and coordinate their efforts to protect and steward public lands and the trails accessing them, and to ensure these lands and trails can be enjoyed in a meaningful and sustainable manner by the diverse people of California and (v) and to carry on other activities associated with the foregoing purposes as allowed by law.Our primary activities in 2023, and the associated revenue and expense, centered on engaging key land managers, tracking legislation, engaging State and Federal legislators, and recruiting, and retaining coalition members. Coalition Members pay a participatory fee each year, which in 2023, amounted to a gross revenue of $33,934. The major categorical expenses associated with this revenue in 2023 included:Marketing & Advertising of $17,578, which was used to build awareness, conduct outreach to potential coalition members, and raise funds.Contractors Fees: $143,881, which was used to engage subject matter experts and support our outreach programs.
