Mission

Alleviate food insecurity amongst elementary school children and promote healthy nutritional and lifestyle habits. Specifically, we distribute backpacks of shelf-stable, ready-to-eat food to elementary school children over the weekend period when they are out of school in cities such as, but not limited to, New York and Los Angeles. We purchase grocery items for distribution to disadvantaged parents of elementary school children served by the backpack program, and also provide nutritious restaurant meals to the schoolchildren, as a monthly community building activity. We identify communities of need and provide food to families with children in these areas.

Coliseum Property-Bridge-LA: This commercial property development company is working in the Baldwin Village area of Los Angeles. They wanted to outreach to the community via our food services to acquaint the neighborhood with their "Thrive" program that will be enacted when their construction project is completed. They've contributed funds specifically earmarked to help the kids at Hillcrest Drive Elementary School.... By underwriting the "Bridge Bags" program, whereby we provide bags full of pantry items and groceries at the end of every month to help families who are running low on funds at that time. They also donated funds to exponentially increase the amount of families served for the Thanksgiving holiday meal (from past years' ~75 families to 180) - we provided 180 grocery kits & whole roasting chickens to families of the extended Hillcrest Drive Elementary School.

Mahan/Tuxedo Park: Their funds were earmarked to expand to a new school in Harlem, NY... specifically PS 133. However, only part of their first $25,000 payment was used for the first few months of operations at this school, before they decided to part ways and we refunded them the remaining amount. They are no longer involved with Good Eats.
