Since 2016, MWTSN has offered support meetings, advocacy, and informal consulting to health care professionals. Since our formal filing as a 501(c)(3) organization in 2019, we have substantially increased those support offerings during COVID-19 and networked heavily in the cisgender community to create awareness of our existence and discuss community needs. In 2023, we expanded our microgrant program which assisted community members with housing, legal & medical fees, gas, groceries, and other basic needs. We also began formally interfacing with public health departments to assist in collecting sexual orientation and gender identity data. Additionally, we are heavily involved in the Community Health Improvement Plan that serves Benton, Linn, and Lincoln counties. We look forward to dramatically expanding the microgrant program in 2024 due to an increase in funding.
