Annual Conference, April 2025 California State Conference in San Diego on the weekend of April 24-27. In association with the California Department of Education (CDE), CCEA Plus honored Model Schools and awardees from the 2024-25 school year in person. The program featured three days of workshops, seminars, speakers, student showcases, and professional awards for alternative education teachers, administrators and staff. Designed and run specially for the Alternative Education community. Both continuation and community day schools are invited to this event with new programming.

Model School Recognition Program, Fall 2024 In partnership with the California Department of Education (CDE), CCEA Plus supports a state-wide selection process for high standards among continuation schools. Each year, the organization runs, reviews and scores all submitted applications (September), as well as orchestrates the required school visits for eligible candidates (October - December). The award is created and presented by CCEA Plus to selected schools at the annual Gala. The organization provides feedback and training for school improvement.

These awards include: Exemplary Programs for outstanding programs developed by members that can be easily replicated by every continuation or community day school; Teacher of the Year, Administrator of the Year, Classified Employee of the Year Award, Counselor or Support Person of the Year Award, Superintendent of the Year Award, Officer of the Year (Student Resource Officer/Probation), and Student Recognition Awards (Essay Contest, Design Contest, Art Showcase) Awards submissions for the 2024-2025 school year were adjudicated by committee and recognized at two events in 2025: Gala dinner (April 26th) and Awards lunch (April 25th) in San Diego, CA.
