Cultivate South Park operates food security, arts & culture, equitable and economic development through programming and events and events in the South Park community. Instead of a typical food bank, we host a Latin-style market and food bank attractively arranged like a retail store where we serve over 200 families each month. Working with the City of Seattle and the Cultural Space Agency, we purchased a 32,000 sq. ft. multi-use commercial building. "El Barrio" features a historic event space, a teaching space, apartments, restaurants, and small retail establishments. El Barrio hosts community programs centering youth, the environment, arts, job skills and health/wellness. Our programs grow youth leadership and develop job skills in a poor neighborhood where few youth jobs are available. In 2024, Cultivate supported over 70 small businesses and over 5,000 individuals through programming and events.
